  The much-anticipated finale of the 2024 Quanzhou–Taiwan Ginger Duck Culinary Innovation Competition took place on 23 November, marking a vibrant celebration of culinary tradition, cultural exchange, and creative fusion.

  At the competition, chefs artfully blended traditional ginger duck recipes with modern and cultural elements, offering a feast for both the eyes and the palate.

  For the first time, the professional category brought together over 40 top ginger duck brands from both Quanzhou and Taiwan. The competition was a true showcase of culinary excellence, where master chefs elevated the humble ginger duck into a symbol of gastronomic innovation. The lively event, filled with sizzling sounds and savoury aromas, captured the authentic essence of local life.

  In the amateur category, 40 community-based cooking enthusiasts took the stage. Among them were family teams who infused their dishes with love and warmth; university students, food bloggers, international students, and expats each brought their unique flair, telling personal stories through their culinary creations.

  The competition celebrated both the preservation of traditional flavours and the integration of fresh concepts, highlighting the inclusiveness and creativity of Quanzhou's food culture. The event not only enriched the global image of Quanzhou as a UNESCO World Heritage city but also added momentum to its bid to become a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.
